Acting with Spartanburg Youth Theatre

Since February 2012, Jesseca has been an actress in four Spartanburg Youth Theatre shows: Maid Dim-Witty in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves of the Black Forest," Kitten/Mother in "The Cat in the Hat," Shoredicth Sal in "Treasure Island," and stickfigure in "Harold and the Purple Crayon."

Recently she was also cast in a new program called "Spartanburg Youth Theatre Underground" which will be performing "Bang, Bang You're Dead" this spring; and as Cinderella in Don Zimmoli's new "Game of Tiaras."

Jesseca, messeca, always yesseca was approached one day by a good friend and art teacher, Mrs. Nancy Corbin-- who suggested, ever so nicely, that it would be a good idea to write a play or two over a South Carolina "blizzard" week when the schools were closed. In response, Jesseca submitted not one, but two plays to "Walk on Your Wild Side" and both were accepted. Excerpts from these da-da inspired plays can be found here.

'Dear Diary, My Best Friends are Super Presidents'

Ever wonder what a children's play would be like if its entire plot centered around multiple American presidents, wars, and patriotic symbolism? Or what it would be like if the presidents of Mount Rushmore had superpowers?

In this children's play, written and directed by Jesseca Kusher and Aidan Baxter-Ferguson, no Mount Rushmore President was spared in an attempt to revitalize the past and speak out against bullying. Read more here.
